Dedicated Server, also known as a Bare Metal Server, is a physical server where all resources are allocated to a single client. CPU, RAM, storage, and bandwidth are not shared with other users.

The client has full control over the server, including the ability to install operating systems and software. Dedicated servers are commonly used for high-traffic websites, enterprise systems, large databases, and performance-intensive applications.

While both Dedicated Servers and VPS (Virtual Private Servers) grant you full administrative control (Root/Administrator access), they differ fundamentally in infrastructure architecture, raw processing power, and system latency.

A VPS is an isolated virtual machine carved out of a high-performance physical server node using virtualization technology (like KVM). While it has dedicated RAM and CPU limits, it still resides on shared underlying hardware.

In stark contrast, a Dedicated Server (Bare Metal) is a fully physical machine provisioned exclusively for you. With no virtualization overhead and no "noisy neighbors," 100% of the hardware’s capabilities are focused solely on running your applications.

Summary: A VPS offers a highly flexible and cost-effective middle ground. However, when your project demands maximum raw hardware performance, massive I/O throughput, or complete physical isolation, a Dedicated Server is the ultimate infrastructure choice.

When choosing a high-quality dedicated server in Vietnam, it is important to evaluate several technical factors such as hardware configuration, data center quality, and network infrastructure.

• Server hardware: Enterprise components such as Intel Xeon CPUs, ECC RAM, and Enterprise SSD / NVMe storage with RAID configuration provide better stability and performance.
• Data center standards: The server should be hosted in a reliable facility such as a Tier 3 data center with redundant power, cooling systems, and strong physical security.
• Network infrastructure: Check the available port speed, domestic bandwidth, and international connectivity to ensure stable performance.
• IPv4 allocation capability: Some projects require multiple IP addresses, so providers should support scalable IPv4 ranges such as /26, /25, or /24.
• Management services: Decide whether you need an unmanaged server with full control or a fully managed service provided by the hosting provider.

Located in Ho Chi Minh City with strong connectivity to domestic and international network routes, the facility provides fast and stable access for customers and end users.

After successful payment verification, VietHosting will begin provisioning your Dedicated Server. Server access credentials will be sent to the customer's registered email address.

For standard server configurations, the typical setup time is approximately 2–4 hours after payment confirmation.

In certain cases, such as custom hardware preparation, special configuration requests, or unforeseen technical issues, deployment may take longer but will not exceed 48 hours. Customers will be notified promptly if additional time is required.

VietHosting operates on a shared bandwidth model. The advertised speeds (for example: 1 Gbps domestic or 32 Mbps international) represent the maximum allowed speed configured by the system and are not guaranteed dedicated bandwidth for each customer.

Actual network speeds may vary depending on overall network traffic and bandwidth management policies at the time of use.

To maintain network stability and fairness across the infrastructure, VietHosting may apply traffic shaping or rate limiting if sustained bandwidth usage exceeds acceptable thresholds and impacts other customers. In such cases, bandwidth may be temporarily limited to 10 Mbps.

Is there any difference between IPv4 allocation for VPS and Dedicated Servers?

By default, each service at VietHosting is provisioned with 01 dedicated IPv4 address. The IP ranges for both Virtual Private Servers (VPS) and Dedicated Servers share the same quality standards. The only difference lies in the maximum additional IPv4 allocation available for each service type.

Customers can easily order additional IPv4 addresses during the initial checkout process or upgrade later with the following limits:

VietHosting respects customers’ administrative freedom when operating VPS and Dedicated Server services. However, to protect network reputation and maintain overall service quality, the usage of dedicated IPv4 ranges must fully comply with our Terms of Service (ToS).

Yes. Data security is a top priority at VietHosting. We follow a Shared Responsibility model to ensure both infrastructure and user-level protection.

• VietHosting’s responsibility: We secure the server infrastructure, network systems, and data center environment to prevent unauthorized access and maintain stable operations.
• Customer responsibility: Customers are responsible for application and data security, including using strong passwords, keeping software updated, and managing access permissions.

Backup policy:

• Shared Hosting: The system maintains the most recent daily backup and the most recent weekly backup to assist with restoration if needed.
• VPS and Dedicated Servers: Customers have full administrative control (root / Administrator) and are responsible for their own backups unless a separate backup service is purchased.

According to our Refund Policy, Dedicated Server and Colocation services are not eligible for refunds.

Why is this the policy?

A Dedicated Server requires VietHosting to provision and reserve an entire physical server exclusively for a customer, including hardware resources, power supply, and network connectivity within the datacenter. Because these resources are allocated specifically for the customer for the entire billing cycle and cannot be reassigned, unused service time cannot be refunded.

How do I stop the service renewal?

You may submit a cancellation request with the "End of Billing Cycle" option through the client area at least 7 days before the service expiration date to avoid charges for the next billing cycle.

No. Unlike Shared Hosting, VPS and Dedicated Server services at VietHosting provide full administrative access (Root/Administrator), and therefore do not include automatic backups by default.

Customers are responsible for configuring their own backup routines on the server or subscribing to a dedicated Backup service to ensure data safety.

The VietHosting network infrastructure includes firewalls and basic DDoS mitigation to reduce the impact of small-scale attacks and common scanning activities.

However, in real-world conditions, no system is completely immune to DDoS attacks. If attack traffic exceeds the physical bandwidth capacity (full port), the server may be null-routed or experience service disruption to protect the network.

If your system is frequently targeted by large-scale attacks, we recommend deploying specialized Anti-DDoS solutions (e.g., Cloudflare) at the proxy/application layer for enhanced protection.
